A Girl is Spoilt for Choice

For most girls their love of jewellery starts at a very young age. They love dressing up and, as jewellery is an important part of any outfit, many mothers have probably allowed their little daughters to choose one or two items from their own collection.

From such an early start, girls get to know what they like. For some, diamonds are the ‘must-have’, whether as part of a simple bracelet or in a complete set including earrings and a necklace.  Young girls usually cannot afford real diamonds but there are excellent substitutes available these days that only an expert would be able to discern as fake. Jewellery set with other precious stones is also available along with their less expensive replicas.

Of course, diamond jewellery is not the only choice.  There are so many other choices of girls jewellery around today that a girl is really spoilt for choice.  Many high street stores carry their own ranges which are regularly updated to reflect the current fashion in clothing.  For instance, in the cooler conditions of autumn and winter, girls tend to wear warm earthy colours and today’s trend for ethnic jewellery, say, big chunky rings and bracelets, coordinates perfectly. There is something for every purse, too, so even girls on very limited budgets will be able to find the perfect item to wear with their favourite outfit.

In spring and summer, trends change. Clothing is lighter and, as this is reflected in the summery pastel shades of summer dresses and skirts, so the choice of girls jewellery changes, too. It needs to be more delicate, and simple little pendant chains with, perhaps, matching earrings, work very well here where the heavier winter items would look and feel out of place.

Today, girls jewellery is as essential to an outfit as shoes and a handbag, and  much time is spent choosing the perfect piece – time well spent when you think that just one carefully-chosen necklace or bracelet will be worn many many times.
