Spring is the time of year when you can put away all your heavy Winter clothing and bring out your lighter weight clothes ready for the warmer months ahead. With a little imagination, last year’s evening dresses, day dresses, summer skirts and blouses can be freshened up and given a whole new lease of life with the use of accessories. It can be an inexpensive and fun way of revamping your clothes and will give you an individual but stylish look.
1. A plain neutral coloured outfit can be jazzed up with the use of a coloured belt, chunky bangle, earrings, a necklace, handbag and shoes. Instead of going for the usual black shoes and small understated jewellery, pick a colour and make that your theme. For example, red or blue accessories look great on a black outfit and really make you stand out. If you like black accessories, then team them up with a white outfit for a striking monochrome effect.
2. Hats are a great way to get you noticed and finish off an outfit perfectly. Not everyone feels comfortable wearing a hat though, so if you don’t usually wear them, choose a hat that will blend in with your outfit, rather than making a bold statement. Spring and Summer hats are practical as well as fashionable especially for holidays when you need to keep cool.
3. Scarves are practical, fashionable and an inexpensive way of changing the look of an outfit. Choose a contrasting colour to match with your other accessories, or if you prefer a patterned scarf, then choose one that contains a colour from your outfit. Spring time scarves are very versatile. If they are thin enough then they can be turned into a fashionable belt for jeans, used as a headband for long hair or even used as an accessory for your handbag.
